We love our dreams and goals. We want them and desire them. And with our passion for them we think them into being. And often, when things get tough … we abandon them. Dreams are like children. Of course things are going to become a challenge. Even the dream-child will become a challenge. But if you do not rise up to accept the challenge, you will lose your dream-child. When dreams die, something inside the soul dies. Fight for your dream-child.

Below are 5 tips to help you keep your most cherished goals alive.

  1. Take responsibility for your dream-child’s conception. Try to understand that you thought the dream-child into being. You desired it and visualized it. Your passion for the dream-child brought it into awareness. Even though you cannot see it or touch it, it is alive. And it waits for you to claim it. Dreams are like children and they will wait until you come for it. But if you do not come, they can wither and die.
  2. Accept your Dream-child. Think of it often. Take charge of its nutrition while it grows in the womb of your mind. Do what it takes to make it strong and healthy. Clear the path for your dream-child so it can reach you as well. Get over any feelings of unworthiness. Get past any feelings of failures and focus on your successes. That’s how you make room for your dream-child. Set an extra place at the table of your heart in anticipation of its arrival.
  3. Provide for its future. Get ready to bring the dream-child into the world. Prepare for its arrival. Get the education you will need. Lay the ground work. Rally your team. Do something to strengthen it every day. Believe in your dream-child, even if it is not here yet. Do not give up. If the birth is too hard, do not blame the dream-child. Do not blame at all. Instead, go within to find the blocks that stand between you, and bust through the blocks.
  4. Fight for them, rescue them. All births go through labor pains. There will be obstacles. The pains that accompany the birth of a dream-child come in the form of resistance, doubt, excuses, procrastination, fear, feelings of unworthiness, and impatience. To overcome them is to breathe through them and release them. With each negative emotion you release, you will see your dream-child come closer. When the conditions of your heart are right, your dream-child will enter the world.
  5. Let your dream-child return your love. It is exciting to watch your dream-child enter the world and mature right before your eyes. It is rewarding after all that negative clearing and the labor pains to watch your dream-child return your love. Live the joys of watching your dream-child mature. Watch it grow into an income and other rewards. Let it provide for you. It wants to. Be proud of it. Let it take you to places and heights you’ve never been before.
